The Effect of Sexual Adjustment Education for Women after Hysterectomy

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of sexual adjustment education for women after hysterectomy.


Methods: Participants were randomly assigned to experimental group (n=26) and control group (n=26). The data were collected from June to November 2011 by using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, Fisher¡¯s exact test, t-test, ANCOVA, and repeated measures ANOVA with PASW 18.0 were used to analyze the collected data.

Results: There was significant difference in the sexual behavior but, there was not significant difference in the sexual satisfaction and body image depending on sexual education. There was significant difference in sense of loss depending on sexual education but, there was not significant difference with time relapse.

Conclusion: Through an appropriate education program and intervention to promote body image and to diminish the sense of loss for women after hysterectomy, they will improve their sexual satisfaction and self-image.
